Charge Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Charge Nurse (RN) to oversee daily department operations, ensuring quality patient care and adherence to organizational and medical standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills to support the delivery of quality obstetric care.

Responsibilities

• Managing patient care activities and supervising staff in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
• Assisting with staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
• Preparing reports for nurse managers and coordinating operational aspects of the unit.
• Assessing staff competencies, making patient care assignments, and maintaining clear communication with leadership.
• Providing leadership support and mentoring to nursing staff.
• Performing related duties to support departmental effectiveness and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience.
• Current applicable state RN licensure/permit.
• Certifications: BLS required upon hire; ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI required within specified timelines for relevant departments.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
