About the role
The RN Charge Nurse provides leadership and clinical expertise during their shift, coordinating staffing, resources, and patient care to ensure high-quality outcomes. They assess patient needs holistically, develop individualized care plans collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, and evaluate responses to interventions. Acting as a clinical support and role model, they delegate tasks, manage operational efficiency, and promote professionalism among staff. They are responsible for maintaining compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, documenting care accurately, and resolving conflicts. The role includes setting clear expectations, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure
- BLS certification
- Relevant clinical experience
Preferred qualifications
- Mentoring experience
- BSN degree, to be obtained within four years if not already held
