Charge Nurse RN - Full Time

About the role

The Charge Nurse at Blue Cloud is responsible for coordinating and overseeing nursing care and related activities in the surgical center. This position requires a strong commitment to providing excellent care to pediatric patients and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schedules and ensure completion of delegated tasks.
• Provide daily and intermittent reports.
• Maintain effective communication with the DON/administrator, as well as clinical and non-clinical associates.
• Ensure proper supervision of surgery center flow in the absence of the DON/administrator.
• Report deviations in surgery, the schedule, and parent/guardian grievances to the DON/administrator.
• Manage and supervise the nursing staff and provide support as needed.
• Direct the admission of patients during the perioperative process within the surgery center.
• Stay up-to-date on clinical staff certifications including PALS, ACLS, and BLS.
• Assist with discharge and general flow of patients on the schedule.
• Assist the DON/administrator with nursing assignments.
• Assist with ordering of necessary supplies for the surgery center.
• Ensure that medical gas is ordered and stocked appropriately.
• Sign off on competency evaluations.
• Serve as a leader, teacher, and self-starting organizer.
• Follow the surgery center’s professional conduct and dress code policy.
• Attend all mandatory in-services and meetings.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire - PALS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Previous experience in ICU or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
