About the role
The Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) manages daily operations of the ED, ensuring quality patient care while meeting organizational and medical staff goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate patient care in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and mentoring staff.
- Prepare reports for nurse managers and oversee departmental efficiency.
- Assess staff competencies, assign patient care duties, and communicate unit needs.
- Maintain clear communication with management regarding incidents and needs.
- Perform related duties as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with at least one year of RN experience.
- Current RN licensure and BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification within three months for specific departments, along with CPI, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable.
- Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
