About the role

The Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) manages daily operations of the ED to ensure quality patient care, legal compliance, and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversees staffing
• Assists with recruiting and training
• Prepares reports
• Mentors staff
• Coordinates patient care operations
• Assesses staff competencies
• Communicates with management regarding unit needs and incidents

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school
• At least one year of RN experience
• Current state licensure

Certifications

• BLS is mandatory upon hire
• ACLS, CPI, PALS, and NRP certifications are required within three months for specific departments and roles
