Position Overview: The ED - Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating departmental functions, managing patient care, and overseeing staff in a busy emergency setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality patient care per standards, supervise and delegate tasks to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs based on patient needs and staff competencies. Develop and implement plans to meet regulatory requirements, train and mentor staff, and manage scheduling and daily operations. Act as a liaison to internal teams and external providers, ensuring excellent customer service and professional conduct. Assist with staff orientation and competency assessments.Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, decision-making in high-stress situations, and the ability to manage departmental changes and budgets.Qualifications: Nursing degree from an accredited program, valid RN license in the state, and relevant certifications such as CPR, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, NRP, or specialized training depending on the department. Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience, with preferred management or supervisory experience. Additional certifications in specialty areas are advantageous. Other Requirements: Ability to handle complex patient care, lead staff effectively, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. The role involves overseeing patient safety, staff development, and maintaining high standards of emergency care.
