About the role

Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) responsible for coordinating departmental functions within the ED.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient care by supervising RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, ensuring standards are met.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and orientation for new staff, while mentoring team members.
  • Act as liaison to internal and external stakeholders, including pre-hospital providers and hospital administration.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet regulatory requirements and improve patient care quality.
  • Manage customer service interactions, track performance, and address issues.

Qualifications

  • Accredited nursing degree
  • RN license for the state
  • CPR and ACLS certifications
  • Additional certifications based on specialty areas
  • Minimum of two years relevant clinical experience
  • Preferred: management experience and certifications in specialty areas such as bariatrics or wound care
