About the role
Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) responsible for coordinating departmental functions within the ED.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient care by supervising RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, ensuring standards are met.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and orientation for new staff, while mentoring team members.
- Act as liaison to internal and external stakeholders, including pre-hospital providers and hospital administration.
- Develop and implement plans to meet regulatory requirements and improve patient care quality.
- Manage customer service interactions, track performance, and address issues.
Qualifications
- Accredited nursing degree
- RN license for the state
- CPR and ACLS certifications
- Additional certifications based on specialty areas
- Minimum of two years relevant clinical experience
- Preferred: management experience and certifications in specialty areas such as bariatrics or wound care
