Charge Nurse - MedSurg, Pulmonary, Nights

About the role

Registered Nurse in the Pulmonary Department, responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with respiratory issues on a dedicated 12‑bed unit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care across the patient lifecycle, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and standards.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapists to optimize patient outcomes.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using nursing processes.
• Communicate patient status, departmental issues, and staff concerns effectively to leadership.
• Serve as a resource and guide for nursing staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.
• Adjust patient ratios based on acuity and volume, managing operational issues during shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC multistate license.
• Minimum of one year hospital nursing experience; two or more years preferred.
• BLS certification required; advanced certifications and a bachelor’s degree are advantageous.
