About the Role
Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care across the patient lifecycle and manages operational issues during the shift. Provides clinical care as needed based on census demands and communicates patient, departmental, and staff concerns to leadership. Acts as a resource for staff guidance and assistance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the provision of high-quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle.
- Address operational issues during the shift.
- Deliver clinical care as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding patient care, departmental matters, and staff concerns.
- Serve as a resource for staff support and guidance.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required; two or more years preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the relevant state and/or multistate licensure.
- Required certifications include BCLS, ACLS, PALS, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, NRP, and PEARS.
- Specialty certifications such as advanced field-specific credentials are required if applicable.
- Emergency department nurses must obtain PALS within 30 days; additional certifications may be necessary based on unit-specific care needs.
