Charge Nurse Labor and Delivery
About the Role
As a Charge RN in Labor and Delivery, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in Labor and Delivery will allow you to advocate for your fellow nurses, supporting them in reaching their full potential while aligning with the department's operational goals and objectives.
To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable, confident, and an excellent communicator in both 1:1 interactions and group settings. You must also be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your team and unit.
Responsibilities
- Mentor others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
- Provide direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of patients and the department.
- Evaluate care given by staff and coach to improve care.
- Ensure the standard of care is maintained.
- Exhibit a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and coordinate the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
Requirements
- Associate of Nursing (Required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (Required)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)
- Bachelor of Nursing (Preferred)
- Two (2) years of RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse experience (Preferred)

$42.85 - $63.77 per hour
