Role Overview: The RN Charge Nurse provides leadership and clinical expertise during their shift, coordinating staffing and resources to ensure safe, efficient patient care. They act as a clinical support for staff, foster professionalism, and ensure adherence to policies and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Assess physical, social, and psychological patient status collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.Develop and adjust individualized care plans involving patients, families, and physicians.Delegate and coordinate care, manage resources, and set priorities for patient delivery.Evaluate patient responses, revise care plans, and document accurately within legal and ethical standards.Manage staffing needs, control overtime, and lead operational and clinical team functions.Mediates conflicts, enforces policies, and activates emergency protocols when necessary.Participates in quality improvement initiatives and completes necessary training. Qualifications & Skills: Current RN license, BLS certification, relevant unit-specific certifications, and clinical experience in the assigned area. Leadership, assessment, planning, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills are essential. BSN required within four years if not already obtained. Physical Requirements: Ability to see, hear, communicate effectively, manipulate equipment, lift, walk, stand for extended periods, and operate vehicles if needed.
