About the role

UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital seeks an accomplished, board‑certified pediatrician to serve as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatrician‑in‑Chief. The role provides strategic, operational, clinical, academic, and scientific leadership for the department, working with executive leadership across University Hospitals, University Hospitals Medical Group, Rainbow, and Case Western Reserve University. The Chair will lead a large and diverse faculty, strengthen the hospital’s position as the pediatric provider of choice in Northeast Ohio, and drive growth, quality, access, and innovation across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational, clinical, academic, and scientific leadership for the Department of Pediatrics.
• Work closely with executive leadership across University Hospitals, University Hospitals Medical Group, Rainbow, and Case Western Reserve University.
• Lead a large and diverse faculty of 177 physician faculty members across 19 divisions.
• Strengthen Rainbow's position as the pediatric provider of choice across Northeast Ohio.
• Drive growth, quality, access, and innovation across the enterprise.
• Serve as a key member of the leadership team shaping the future of pediatric care, research, and education in the region.

Requirements

• MD, DO, or MD/PhD (or equivalent) with a track record of professional leadership roles in pediatrics.
• Board certified in a pediatric medical specialty.
• Eligible for licensure in the state of Ohio.
• Eligible for the rank of Professor.

Pay

The salary range for the Chair of Pediatrics and Pediatrician‑in‑Chief is $529,230 – $752,918. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of the potential base compensation at the time of posting and is subject to change. Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as location, specialty, academic rank, board certification, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity.
