About the role

Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey is seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join their Specialty Surgery team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Swedesboro, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end care for pets, ranging from outpatient treatments to laboratory tests.
  • Support services including admitting and discharging patients.
  • Play an important role in pets' lives by facilitating their care.
  • Work with doctors to ensure early and appropriate intervention in patient care.
  • Perform advanced technical skills such as epidurals, high-risk anesthesia, and sterile techniques.
  • Assess and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to support doctors.
  • Show a positive work attitude and self-motivation.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain excellent organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care).
  • CVT/RVT/LVT certification (active and current).
  • Advanced technical skills, including experience with epidurals, high-risk anesthesia, aseptic technique, sterile field maintenance, CRI calculations, etc.
  • Strong anesthesia skills (obtaining blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02).
  • A positive work attitude.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.

Pay

The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. An expected starting range is $29 – $35 / hour.

Schedule

Full-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
