About the role

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists – North Scottsdale is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join their team. You’ll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic while benefiting from the support and resources of a larger network.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Aid in surgeries and procedures in accordance with state regulations.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records with support from practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and update medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a veterinary technician CVT/LVT/RVT – current and active.
  • Experience in anesthesia and surgical assisting and post-operative care.
  • Comfortable with anesthetic patient monitoring of ASA I-III (preferred).
  • Familiarity with the use of ventilators (preferred).
  • Prepare animals and instruments for surgery.
  • Able to obtain blood pressure, interpret basic ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to observe the behavior and condition of animals.
  • Provide superior nursing care to recovering or injured animals.
  • Collect laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, or tissue, for testing.
  • Perform laboratory tests, such as urinalyses and blood counts.
  • Comfortable utilizing digital radiography machines to acquire images using proper technique and positioning.
  • Comfortable utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Administer medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian.
  • Collect and record patients' case histories.
