Certified Surgical Technician (CST)- OR General Surgery (PER DIEM)

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient conditions.
• Coordinates care among various healthcare professionals.
• Determines and executes discharge planning needs.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Delegates tasks to other nursing personnel as needed.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Contributes to the development of individualized care plans.
• Engages in ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements

• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Prior surgical technician experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice (2015).
• Compliance with the ANA Code of Ethics (2015).
• Ability to adhere to the ANA Social Policy Statement (2015).
