Certified Surgical Technician (CST)-OR General Surgery

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient conditions.
• Coordinates care among various healthcare professionals.
• Determines and communicates patient discharge planning needs.
• Assesses and addresses the physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs of patients.
• Delegates tasks to other nursing personnel as needed.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Contributes to the development of individualized care plans.
• Engages in ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Hold a certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Graduated from an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Obtained Certified BLS Provider credentials from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to employment.
• Have relevant prior surgical technician experience.
