About the role

The Certified Senior Medical Assistant - OB/Gyn position at Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is responsible for providing comprehensive medical support to patients under the supervision of physicians. This role requires a minimum of five years of medical assistant experience with a focus on chronic disease management or a specialty discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams and treatments, including obtaining vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
• Administers medications and injections as directed by a physician.
• Collects and processes specimens for laboratory testing.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures such as EKGs and urinalyses.
• Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and maintains exam rooms.
• Coordinates patient care with other healthcare professionals and community resources.
• Ensures patient safety and privacy during all interactions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of medical assistant experience with a focus on chronic disease management or a specialty discipline.
• Absolutely required: Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA or Registered Medical Assistant, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, and CPT certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
