About the role
Provides anesthesia services under medical supervision for a diverse patient population, including neonatal to geriatric, during surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients pre-operatively and reviews relevant medical information.
- Selects and administers anesthesia based on patient assessment in collaboration with anesthesiologists.
- Monitors patients intraoperatively and evaluates post-operative condition within 24 hours.
- Ensures equipment safety, prepares drugs, and maintains supplies and controlled substances.
- Manages airway, fluid, and homeostasis; performs emergency response and ventilator management.
- Communicates with surgical team regarding patient concerns and collaborates for optimal care.
- Precepts student nurse anesthetists and maintains compliance with policies, standards, and legal requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and Registered Nurse in California.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NPI required.
- Experience with major procedures, extensive monitoring, and patient management across age groups.
- Strong technical, clinical, communication, documentation, and professional skills.
Schedule
Full-time role requiring rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
