About the role

A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) administers general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures, ensuring patient safety across all age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-operative patient evaluation and collaboration with anesthesiologists and surgeons.
  • Selection and administration of anesthesia, monitoring intraoperative and postoperative patient conditions.
  • Airway management, fluid and electrolyte balance, and emergency response including CPR.
  • Preparation and checking of anesthesia equipment and drugs.
  • Supervision of student nurse anesthetists and maintaining accurate controlled substances records.
  • Maintaining equipment, supplies, and adherence to policies and standards such as TJC and regional regulations.
  • Providing courteous interactions with patients, staff, and the public.
  • Performing additional duties within scope as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
  • California RN and CRNA licensure.
  • ACLS, BLS, and NPI registration.
  • Experience with anesthesia for major procedures across various age groups.
  • Demonstrated technical, clinical, and professional skills.
  • Strong charting, documentation, equipment knowledge, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience and skills above minimum requirements.

Schedule

Work locations include Anaheim and Irvine, with rotating weekends and holidays.
