About the role
A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) administers general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures, ensuring patient safety across all age groups.
Responsibilities
- Pre-operative patient evaluation and collaboration with anesthesiologists and surgeons.
- Selection and administration of anesthesia, monitoring intraoperative and postoperative patient conditions.
- Airway management, fluid and electrolyte balance, and emergency response including CPR.
- Preparation and checking of anesthesia equipment and drugs.
- Supervision of student nurse anesthetists and maintaining accurate controlled substances records.
- Maintaining equipment, supplies, and adherence to policies and standards such as TJC and regional regulations.
- Providing courteous interactions with patients, staff, and the public.
- Performing additional duties within scope as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- California RN and CRNA licensure.
- ACLS, BLS, and NPI registration.
- Experience with anesthesia for major procedures across various age groups.
- Demonstrated technical, clinical, and professional skills.
- Strong charting, documentation, equipment knowledge, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience and skills above minimum requirements.
Schedule
Work locations include Anaheim and Irvine, with rotating weekends and holidays.
