Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Hand Therapy

About the role

Select Physical Therapy in Winter Haven is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide per diem coverage in their established hand therapy program. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of recent hand therapy experience or completed fieldwork in hand therapy with Select Medical.

Responsibilities

• Treat a wide range of upper extremity conditions, including tendon injuries, post-operative fractures, sprains, and other orthopedic diagnoses.
• Work within a supportive outpatient team, alongside experienced hand therapists and regional CHTs who collaborate on education, best practices, and schedule support.
• Optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
• Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
• Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals.
• Maintain proper documentation of patient care.
• Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program.
• National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED.
• Must have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients. In lieu of experience, new grad COTAs with fieldwork in hand therapy with Select Medical would be eligible.

Qualifications

• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Valid state driver’s license.
