About the Role
Select Physical Therapy in Winter Haven is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide per diem coverage in our established hand therapy program. You will treat a wide range of upper extremity conditions, including tendon injuries, post-operative fractures, sprains, and other orthopedic diagnoses. You will work within a supportive outpatient team, alongside experienced hand therapists and regional Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) who collaborate on education, best practices, and schedule support. Our clinics offer comprehensive resources for post-surgical and non-operative care, with strong referral relationships with local hand and orthopedic surgeons.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
- Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
- Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
- Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program.
- National registration and state COTA licensure or registration (REQUIRED).
- At least 1 year of current working experience with hand therapy patients. New grad COTAs with fieldwork in hand therapy are also eligible.
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Valid state driver’s license.
Pay
$30 per hour.
Schedule
Per diem (as needed), Monday–Friday.
