Certified Nursing Assistant | Long Term Care

Avera Granite Falls Health Care Center – Regular, night-shift position primarily working nights with rotating weekends and holidays.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $26.00 per hour, dependent upon experience. Position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $1,000.

About the Role

Accountable for providing direct, personal care and services to residents in the skilled nursing facility, meeting their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs daily to maintain and improve their highest level of independent function.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, feeding, and ambulation.
• Perform routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff, such as serving and collecting food trays, answering call lights, and maintaining a clean environment.
• Perform vital signs: blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, and weight; document concise and factual information on appropriate forms.
• Assist residents with specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure, including restorative exercises and collecting specimens.
• Assess and document completed cares; provide immediate feedback to nursing staff on resident status, pain management, or other concerns.
• Restock supplies and maintain a clean, safe work environment, including cleaning procedures and compliance with infection control and hazardous communication programs.
• Provide emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families.
• Comply with all aspects of resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy; report allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of property.
• Follow established policies and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plans, universal precautions, and infection control.

Requirements

• Active Minnesota Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification or enrollment in a MN CNA class ending within 30 days of applying.
• Ability to work the specified night shift: 10 p.m. – 6:30 a.m., 32 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• Visual acuity and communication skills adequate to perform position duties, including hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech and other sounds.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, provided they do not cause undue hardship to the employer.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related experience or training.

Schedule

• Night shift: 10 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
• 32 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation.
