About the Role
Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. Obtain information on patient condition as requested by nursing staff and report any changes.
Nurse Assistant Training Program
Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. During clinical rotations, provides basic patient care under the supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff, including taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. Obtains and reports patient condition as directed. At the end of training, a competency assessment will validate learning.
Certified Nurse Assistants, Nurse Assistants, or Nurse Assistant Trainees are eligible to apply.
Requirements
For Certified Nurse Assistant/Nurse Assistant:
- Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: One of the following:
- 3 months of experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years
- Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years
- Completion of the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program
- Missouri CNA License
- Missouri CNA Appendix (MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire)
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
For Nurse Assistant Trainees:
- Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Prior patient care or healthcare-related experience
