Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens
- Obtain information on patient condition as requested by nursing staff and report any changes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Nurse Assistant Training Program
- Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel
- Provides basic patient care under the direction and supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff during clinical rotation (e.g., taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens)
- Obtains information on patient condition as requested by nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes
- Completes a competency assessment at the end of training to validate learning
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
Experience: Prior patient care or healthcare-related experience (Preferred)
Certified Nurse Assistant / Nurse Assistant
- Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens
- Obtain information on patient condition as requested by nursing staff and report any changes
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
Experience: One of the following is required:
- 3 months of experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years
- Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years
- Completion of the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program
- Missouri CNA License
- Missouri CNA Appendix (MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire)
