About the Role
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily activities under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Record vital signs and collect non-invasive specimens.
- Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice and document care outcomes.
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and range of motion exercises.
- Help with food preparation, dining, and encourage participation in recreational activities.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean environment.
- Communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
- Contribute to departmental initiatives and wellness programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 18.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Must complete required training and maintain certifications per state regulations.
- Ability to document accurately and communicate effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance if applicable.
Certification requirements vary by state; CNA and Medication Aide certifications may be required.
