About the role
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and vital sign recording.
- Administer medications delegated by licensed nurses, document care outcomes, and communicate changes in resident conditions.
- Support residents with transfers, mobility, and psychosocial needs.
- Assist with meal service, housekeeping, laundry, and recreational programs to promote well-being.
- Participate in departmental committees and ensure compliance with certifications and training.
- Deliver age-appropriate care, assist with basic health needs, administer medications within scope, document care activities, and support resident engagement and safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience is advantageous.
- Must complete competency testing and maintain continuing education (at least 12 hours annually).
- Must hold relevant state certifications (e.g., CNA, Medication Aide).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance may be required depending on state regulations.
