About the role
We are seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily activities under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Deliver age-appropriate physical and psychological care based on individual care plans
- Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital sign recording
- Provide psycho-social support and personal care
- Help residents with transfers, repositioning, and range of motion exercises
- Support meal and snack service, and assist with food preparation
- Administer prescribed medications as delegated, document outcomes, and report changes to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive specimens and vital signs
- Support housekeeping, laundry, wellness, and recreational activities
- Participate in departmental committees and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum age of 18 preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Completion of state-specific CNA and medication aide certification requirements
- Annual continuing education and certification maintenance
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance if applicable
- Must pass pre-employment screenings and adhere to workplace policies
