Full time, weekdays: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Assist during patient examinations and treatments under physician guidance.
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Escort patients from the waiting area and prepare them for examination.
- Conduct patient interviews to gather medical information and document it in medical histories.
- Take and record patient vital signs.
- Perform routine patient tests, process electrocardiograms, and collect specimen samples.
- Administer medications as instructed by the physician.
- Change dressings and remove sutures and staples.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering calls and scheduling appointments.
- Promote team productivity through huddles and meetings; assist in mentoring and training staff members.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from one of the following:
- Nat Cert Med Asst (NCMA) from NCCT
- Cert Med Asst (CMA) from AAMA or ARMA
- Cert Cln Med Asst (CCMA) from NHA
- Reg Med Asst (RMA) from AMT, AAMP, or AAH
- Nat Reg Cert Med Asst (NRCMA) from NAHP
- Cln Med Asst Cert (CMAC) from AMCA
Skills
- Understanding of safe medical practice and precise medication administration.
- Ability to document patient information accurately.
- Capacity to monitor patients' overall physical health and report abnormal findings.
- Proficiency in administering injections and drawing blood.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Exceptional patient care skills, including a comforting bedside manner.
- Ability to follow physician instructions closely.
- Experience with medical charts and records.
