Certified Medical Assistant II

Full time, weekdays: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Assist during patient examinations and treatments under physician guidance.
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Escort patients from the waiting area and prepare them for examination.
  • Conduct patient interviews to gather medical information and document it in medical histories.
  • Take and record patient vital signs.
  • Perform routine patient tests, process electrocardiograms, and collect specimen samples.
  • Administer medications as instructed by the physician.
  • Change dressings and remove sutures and staples.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as answering calls and scheduling appointments.
  • Promote team productivity through huddles and meetings; assist in mentoring and training staff members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from one of the following:
    • Nat Cert Med Asst (NCMA) from NCCT
    • Cert Med Asst (CMA) from AAMA or ARMA
    • Cert Cln Med Asst (CCMA) from NHA
    • Reg Med Asst (RMA) from AMT, AAMP, or AAH
    • Nat Reg Cert Med Asst (NRCMA) from NAHP
    • Cln Med Asst Cert (CMAC) from AMCA

Skills

  • Understanding of safe medical practice and precise medication administration.
  • Ability to document patient information accurately.
  • Capacity to monitor patients' overall physical health and report abnormal findings.
  • Proficiency in administering injections and drawing blood.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Exceptional patient care skills, including a comforting bedside manner.
  • Ability to follow physician instructions closely.
  • Experience with medical charts and records.
