Job Summary

Certified Medical Assistant II position available at Family Medicine/Pediatrics/Internal Medicine clinic. Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

About the role

This role involves offering assistance during patient examinations and treatments, setting up treatment rooms, accompanying patients, conducting patient interviews, taking vital signs, performing routine tests, administering medications, changing dressings, and carrying out administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Offering help during patient examinations and treatments, under the guidance of a physician.
  • Scheduling and staff training.
  • Undertaking administrative tasks like answering calls and scheduling appointments.
  • Promoting team productivity through huddles and meetings, and assisting in the mentoring and training of staff members.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
  • A CMA certification from one of the following organizations: NCCT (Nat Cert Med Asst), AAMA (Cert Med Asst), NHA (Cert Cln Med Asst), AMT (Reg Med Asst), NAHP (Nat Reg Cert Med Asst), or AMCA (Cln Med Asst Cert).

Key Success Factors

  • An understanding of safe medical practice and precise medication administration.
  • Aptitude for documenting patient information accurately.
  • Capacity to monitor patients' overall physical health and report any abnormal findings.
  • Proficiency in administering injections and drawing blood.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Exceptional patient care skills, including a comforting bedside manner.
  • Ability to adhere closely to instructions given by physicians.
  • Experience with medical charts and records.
