About the role

A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who excels in this role:

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinic setting.
  • Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a provider.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
  • Communicates with providers about changes in patient's condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology.

Requirements

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of Certified or Registered Medical Assistant training program.

Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years medical experience in a physician's office or equivalent in combination of training or experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • CMA (AAMA) Certification, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or RMA (ARMA) Certification.
  • Current BCLS certification.
