Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Schedule

Full-time, day shift: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (no weekends).

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
• Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
• Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
• Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
• Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.
• Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Handle with Care certification preferred.

It includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that treats more than 5,000 patients each year.
