Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Outpatient Pediatrics Clinic

About the role

If you enjoy phlebotomy and providing exceptional patient care, this is a unique opportunity to put your skills to work in a high-volume clinical setting. This position is based in our Pediatrics department and supports patients across Pediatrics, Urology, OB/GYN, and General Surgery. Your primary responsibility will be performing laboratory specimen collections, ensuring patients have a positive experience while receiving safe, accurate, and efficient care. During slower periods in the lab, you'll assist providers and the care team with traditional Certified Medical Assistant duties, making this a well-rounded role with a variety of responsibilities throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory specimen collections
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures
• Takes and records vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements
• Documents pain scores as appropriate
• Prepares patient for exam and treatment
• Aids in patient care coordination and management
• Communicates test results to patients
• Administers medications in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation
• Maintains a clean, functional environment
• Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas
• Monitors inventory and performs basic maintenance of equipment
• Completes on-boarding/orientation activities

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations
• Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Registration is required
• Current BLS certification
• Excellent organizational skills and effective human relations and communication skills
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills

Pay

Compensation $21.07 to $30.34 hourly wage based on experience and education

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5x8 hour day shifts, rotating Saturdays
