About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, assisting patients and their families throughout their clinical interactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families cordially at every visit, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and excellent customer service skills.
• Assist providers with patient care, gathering necessary information and updating medical records.
• Participate in Care Team meetings and provide translations or access to language line services as needed.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and center policies.
• Support the educational process during and after visits, ensuring patients understand instructions and follow-up appointments are arranged.
• Perform various clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, and administering vaccines.
• Complete annual competencies in translation, vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomies, and other relevant areas.
• Assist with administrative tasks like form completion, insurance referrals, and patient preparation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant.
• Current certifications for EKG, Phlebotomy, and BLS.
• At least 6 months of experience in a clinical or medical setting, or 120 hours of externship experience.

Salary

$19.00 - $24.34 per hour.
