UnityPoint Clinic Certified Medical Assistant - CMA Cardiology Clinic - Methodist Des Moines, IA Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4PM Full-time + benefits We are seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. This clinical professional will provide support in patient care, assisting with exams, treatments, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
• Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure
• Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
• Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required: National Healthcare Association, American Association of Medical Assistants, National Center for Competency Testing, National Certified Medical Assistant, National Association of Health Professionals, American Registry of Medical Assistants, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
• For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
