About the Role

As a Patient Service Specialist / Certified Medical Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of our care team, supporting both administrative and clinical functions to ensure a seamless experience for the residents we serve. Working closely with primary care providers, you'll help manage day-to-day patient interactions and clinical support needs—always striving to exceed expectations and deliver quality care in line with state guidelines and the CMA scope of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize labs, orders that need signatures, dietary recommendations, pharmacy recommendations, nursing concerns, etc. for NP to review
  • Obtain and assist in acquiring vital signs, pulling Medication Administration Record (MAR), and orders
  • Obtain necessary medical records from hospital systems and the facility EMR
  • Prepare the medical record in the UHP EMR
  • Obtain chief complaints and vital signs
  • Complete demographic information and chronic conditions on chart
  • File and maintain necessary documents
  • Ensure lab and diagnostic test results are tracked and reported to providers
  • Prepare patient charts for upcoming visits by reviewing and updating records
  • Assist with phone triage using approved protocols to gather symptoms and relay concerns appropriately
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Active Medical Assisting Certification (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire)
  • One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required)
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required)
