About the Role
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive patient experience from the moment someone calls our clinic to the completion of their visit. Working alongside an experienced occupational health team, you'll combine administrative expertise with hands-on clinical care to support the health and well-being of our workforce.
Responsibilities
- Attend to the needs of patients calling to schedule appointments for exams.
- Maintain the scheduling book and ERHS scheduling system.
- Organize charts as appointments are being made.
- Greet patients as they come in for their appointments.
- Ensure cleanliness in the front office and maintain a well-organized workstation.
- Maintain precise records for use by the occupational health team.
- Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings and alert MD/NP as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and information.
- Assist in the health assessment of workers by obtaining vital signs, performing basic laboratory tests, and assisting the Healthcare Provider as needed.
- Perform various patient testing including EKGs, phlebotomy, hearing and vision screenings, spirometry, audiometry, and specimen collection.
- Maintain supplies and equipment; report malfunctions and shortages promptly.
- Identify walk-in emergencies and respond effectively.
- Follow current and proper medical procedures for safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be completed within 3 months of hire).
- Minimum two (2) years of training in a clinical setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a NIOSH Spirometry Course.
- Designation as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist through CAOHC.

- Work Environment: Primarily in an office setting with occasional irregular hours. Low to moderate travel away from the office may be required.
