Certified Medical Assistant
About the role
The Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) supports the healthcare team in a professional and compassionate manner within the clinic setting. This role is responsible for delivering quality nursing care, administering immunizations, and providing health education to patients of all ages in accordance with established standards.
Responsibilities
- Delivers quality nursing care, administering immunizations, and providing health education to patients of all ages in accordance with established standards.
- Prepares and escorts patients for examinations.
- Obtains and documents vital signs and chief complaints.
- Aids providers with procedures.
- Ensures accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Manages referrals and follow-up appointments.
- Maintains medical supplies and equipment.
- Coordinates care among the healthcare team.
- Promotes an efficient, safe, and patient-centered environment of care through teamwork, communication, and clinical expertise.
Qualifications
- National CMA or RMA certification
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification (BLS)
- One (1) year of practice experience as a CMA/RMA giving direct patient care
