Job Summary
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you support healthcare professionals and patients. You work closely with doctors to provide care. Responsibilities include updating records, administering medication, giving injections, and recording vital signs. You maintain detailed documentation with precision. Providing patient-focused service, you perform each task proficiently and diligently.
Responsibilities
- Aid with patient examinations and treatments under physician guidance.
- Clean and prepare treatment rooms before and after procedures, ensuring supplies are well-stocked.
- Guide patients through the examination process and update medical records.
- Interview patients and collect detailed medical information.
- Record patient vital signs such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Prepare patients for exams, tests, procedures, and x-rays.
- Administer routine medications and vaccinations as directed.
- Maintain patient safety by monitoring for adverse reactions and reporting to the physician.
- Change dressings, remove sutures, and staples as needed.
Requirements
- Medical assistant certification from a reputable professional healthcare association.
- Understanding of medical administration safety procedures and standards.
- Knowledge of the five patient rights.
- Adequate documentation skills following organizational policies and regulatory standards, including privacy laws.
- The ability to closely observe a patient's condition and report any abnormalities.
- Proficiency in administering injections and drawing blood.
- A basic understanding of medical terminology.
- The ability to build trust and rapport with patients.
- The willingness and ability to follow instructions from doctors.
- Familiarity with medical charts and records.
- A keen eye for details.

Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- At least (3) three years of experience.
- Experience with Epic is a plus.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from one listed Nat Cert Med Asst (NCMA), Cert Med Asst (CMA) from AAMA or ARMAC, Cert Cln Med Asst (CCMA) from NHA, Reg Med Asst (RMA) from AMT, AAMP or AAHNat Reg Cert Med Asst (NRCMA), Cln Med Asst Cert (CMAC) from AMCA.
