About the Role
The Certified Athletic Trainer renders service under the direction of a physician team, including injury/illness prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and organizational management for their assigned school or site. This role provides athletic training coverage for community-based events and is responsible for the coverage and care of athletes as assigned by the Sports Medicine Institute Manager. The trainer also participates in staff education and other departmental activities as requested.
Responsibilities
- Provide injury/illness prevention, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletes.
- Coordinate and provide athletic training coverage for community-based events.
- Deliver care and coverage for athletes as assigned by the Sports Medicine Institute Manager.
- Participate in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- BOC Certification.
- CPR-AHA certification.
- South Carolina Athletic Training License or eligibility (must obtain within 60 days of employment).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- Two (2) years of clinical experience.
