Summary of Performance Expectations

The Scheduling Registrar will assist in scheduling patient encounters for outpatient services and diagnostic procedures performed at Catawba Valley Health System locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in scheduling patient encounters for outpatient services and diagnostic procedures.
• May consider candidates nearing completion of an Associate degree with two years experience in hospital scheduling or candidates with demonstrated excellence and proficiency in hospital scheduling for a minimum of five years.
• One year of administrative experience in a healthcare setting required.
• Must be familiar with medical terminology and have a general understanding of outpatient clinical procedures and guidelines.
• Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the position within three months of employment date.
• One year of scheduling experience preferred.
• Background in Radiology or other scheduled procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of centralized scheduling, registration, and preadmissions concepts helpful.
• Prior Meditech experience preferred.
