About the role

A Scheduler who excels in this role:

  • Schedule patients for rehabilitation services, procedures, and diagnostic testing while ensuring appropriate staffing, resources, and appointment availability.
  • Cookordinate appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling to support efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.
  • Verify physician orders and obtain required insurance authorizations or pre-certifications prior to scheduled services.
  • Enter and manage outpatient orders and procedures accurately within the scheduling and order entry systems.
  • Communicate insurance coverage details, out-of-network status, and potential benefit impacts to patients and physician offices.
  • Provide clear pre-appointment instructions, testing requirements, and supporting documentation to patients and referring offices.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date scheduling information while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy standards.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, billing, or collections preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to quickly learn scheduling and electronic systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and physician offices.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in scheduling, insurance verification, and patient information.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

Pay

The base compensation for this position is not specified, but comprehensive benefits are offered.

Schedule

This position will work PRN, working in the Outpatient Clinic as well as the Haywood Health & Fitness Center as needed.
