Job Summary

The Centering Pregnancy Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of the Centering Pregnancy Program and its quality outcomes. This role builds upon core program coordination responsibilities by incorporating leadership, staff training, data-driven improvement efforts, and community engagement.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

  • Provides day-to-day coordination and oversight of group schedules, including dates, times, and locations across multiple clinic sites (JPS Health Center for Women Main, JPS Health Center for Women Northwest, JPS Health Center for Women Southeast, JPS Stop Six-Walter B. Barbour Health Center, and any additional sites as assigned), escalating logistical, staffing, and operational needs to Practice Manager leadership team.
  • Facilitates recruitment of patients, group formation, organization of support services and materials, and data tracking of Centering statistics related to individual sessions and group trends.
  • Participates in the annual accreditation renewals and any site approvals.
  • Analyzes challenges and opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the program. Acts as a liaison with the Centering Healthcare Institute to maintain accreditation and implement best practices.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and concerns about Centering Pregnancy Group via various communication outlets (i.e phone, email, EPIC, etc.).
  • Works as a co-facilitator with providers aligning group assignments and coordinating support services and materials for the program.
  • Works with schedulers, providers, and clinical teams to ensure efficient appointment coordination within EPIC.
  • Ensures communication and services are delivered in a culturally responsive manner that meets the needs of diverse patient populations.
  • Promotes patient engagement by encouraging active participation in their healthcare.
  • Participates in various training sessions throughout the year with staff, nurses, midwives, and physicians.
  • Provides coverage for other coordinators at other centering sites as needed.
  • Works as a Certified Medical Assistant as needed under the supervision of the physician, physician’s assistant, or nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications: Current certification from a national registry as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). 4 plus years of experience working as a CMA to include 6 plus months working for an OBGYN or similar women's healthcare facility. Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Centering Facilitator Certification or willingness to obtain within six months of hire. 1 plus years' experience in a healthcare setting. 2 plus years of OBGYN experience. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Experience using EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.
