Center Manager

About the Role

The Center Manager will perform under the supervision of the Operations Manager and at times will take instruction and tasks from the Senior Director of Operations. The role ensures donor suitability, product integrity, and the continued good health of donors through compliance with FDA regulations, state regulations, the Company’s Standard Operating Procedure Manual (SOP), and other applicable regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all center operations, product storage, documentation, facility maintenance, quality control, and training are current and consistent with the Company’s SOP, State and Federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and other internal procedures.
• Regularly review and update center documentation such as logs, forms, training records, proficiency testing, and equipment validations/qualifications to ensure compliance.
• Manage the center’s donor flow and on-site personnel, including scheduling, break times, and addressing day-to-day issues; escalate concerns as needed.
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new hires; complete performance assessments and retraining as required by the SOP.
• Report errors/incidents affecting the safety, purity, identity, or quality of blood products to Quality Assurance; assist in responding to audits.
• Review, investigate, and respond to center-related issues, donor complaints, employee concerns, post-donation information, and other operational matters per SOP or company policies.
• Handle positive test results or product-related issues; oversee quarantining and/or destruction of unacceptable units.
• Assist with preparation and completion of product shipments.
• Respond to security and freezer alarms or concerns, including after-hours incidents.
• Manage inventory and purchasing of cleaning, office, and medical supplies.
• Ensure the center is clean, safe, and organized; report maintenance, facility, safety, or equipment issues.
• Travel to other facilities for training or to assist with staffing needs; fill in for center operations as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, Nursing, Finance, or a science-related field (preferred).
• Current nursing license (LPN) in good standing for the state of application.
• Current CPR and BLS certification.

Physical Requirements

• Read computer screens, procedure manuals, and other documents.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to hear doorbells, alarms, telephones, and other mechanical devices.
• Work confidently while being observed during frequent quality inspections.
• Work in walk-in subzero freezer(s).
• Lift, pull, or tug up to 50 pounds to stock supplies and/or support donors.
• Regularly use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Vision abilities include close vision.
• Stand for extended intervals, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Operate equipment requiring repetitive motion and manual dexterity.
• Read while standing or sitting in front of a computer for short periods.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eyewear, lab coats, and gloves.
