CEI Contract Support Specialist

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Aid in MAC entry and review, tracking materials acceptance, progress, and final estimates processing, and EEO compliance
  • Monitor contractor’s progress on work performed
  • Handle construction contract changes such as Work Orders and Supplemental Agreements, coordinating with CEI staff and contractor on project issues, maintaining site source records for project compliance, etc.
  • Contribute to the development of Request for Proposals (RFPs), Letters of Reference (LORs), and Evaluation of Local Offerings (ELOIs) or additional proposals as needed. Attend seminars and workshops to stay updated on industry developments.
  • Review and manage contract documentation in Site Manager

Required Skills

  • Independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of the project
  • Successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

Required Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Four (4) years of CEI experience having performed/assisted in project related duties (i.e., Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) System input, progress and final estimates, EEO compliance, processing Construction Contract changes, etc.)
  • Two (2) years of experience with 3D Modeling and CADD

Qualifications / Certifications

  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II

Abilities / Responsibilities

  • Effective communication in English (verbal and written)
  • Familiarity with Department’s Procedures covering project related duties and proficiency in necessary computer programs
  • Proficiency in Trimble Business Center - Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) or approved surface to surface comparison software and Engineering Menu
  • Understanding of survey data from the field and ability to prepare it for use in software to generate accurate earthwork quantities

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in the field 50% of the time
  • Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed
  • Work conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
  • Work performed within a general office environment 50% of the time
  • Office work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking
  • Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment

Qualifications

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of the project
  • Familiarity with the Department’s Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and proficiency in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties
  • Ability to become proficient in Trimble Business Center - Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) or approved surface to surface comparison software and Engineering Menu
  • Understanding of which surfaces are needed from the designer, understanding of survey data from the field, and ability to prepare the survey data as needed for use in the software to generate accurate earthwork quantities
