CDL B Driver (Local)
Location: Charleston, SC – Filling industrial
About the role
As a key representative of Airgas, the delivery driver contributes to the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided CDL B vehicle. This position involves loading, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders while frequently connecting with Airgas customers.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders & supplies
- Nurture courteous & professional relationships with customers
- Support deliveries in a timely manner
- Safely secure and unsecure cylinders
- Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart; this position is physically active and hands-on
- Drivers will frequently move in and out of their vehicle

Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain within 60 days from hire date) & Airbrake endorsements
- Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements
- No more than two (2) traffic convictions OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
- No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
- Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
- Able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
- Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months

Schedule
Consistent routine: Monday-Friday predictable schedule with weekend support as needed.
