CDL B Driver (Local)

About the role

We are hiring a CDL B Driver in Dothan, AL. This position involves loading, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders and Dewars while frequently connecting with Airgas customers. The position requires a valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements, no more than two (2) traffic convictions in the last 3 years, and 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company provided CDL B vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders, Dewars & supplies.
• Nurture courteous & professional relationships with customers.
• Safely secure and unsecure cylinders.
• Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart.
• Support deliveries in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years.
• Able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements.
• Candidates must currently have their Hazmat.
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Able to complete 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Skills

Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
