Catholic Substitute Teacher

About the role

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking part‑time substitute teachers to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom in Spring, Texas. Substitutes are called as needed when staff are out sick and may decline if unavailable on a particular day. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a classical, Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays, up to 13 hours per week.
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Prepare lesson materials at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment.
• Sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.

Requirements

• Must be living the Catholic faith day‑to‑day and have received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life.
• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Clear background check and completion of RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.
• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
• Ministry involvement in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
• Teaching your own children or experience in a classical or private school.
• Strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, and a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.

Schedule
