Chicago Marriott Northwest is seeking a Catering Sales Coordinator. Responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategies for group events, parties, and catering. Requires 2 to 5 years of banquet and relevant experience. Salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and executes group sales efforts, including making sales calls and in-person visits.
- Reserves, coordinates, and details corporate and social events.
- Produces weekly group sales reports, sales strategies, and updates on revenue.
- Captures and manages food and beverage service, linens, and rentals for each event.
- Manages guest surveys and ensures guest satisfaction.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for groups or events to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborates with the kitchen and banquet staff to guarantee flawless execution of events.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Undergraduate degree preferred, ideally in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or Sales.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with responsibility for large volume events.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Sound business judgment, quick generation of effective solutions, and ability to escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Team player with an exceptional customer service attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
