Catering Event Supervisor

Job Level: Operations, Administrative, Service, or Technical Support Level 3 – Senior level role with considerable knowledge and skills. Performs complex tasks and project work. Work is typically not routine and requires troubleshooting and analysis. Mentors or guides less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Washes and prepares various foods for cooking or serving
  • Cooks and presents foods for various catering events, both on- and off-campus
  • Follows all established quality control, portioning, and customer service standards
  • Provides excellent service in a friendly, sincere, and courteous manner
  • Maintains cleanliness of the event space to provide an exceptional dining experience for guests
  • Assists with the setup, execution, and tear down of catered events as needed
  • Follows all New York State, Monroe County, and university codes as they relate to alcohol, health, sanitation, and safety
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of food service production and service techniques and standards, including food sanitation and safety standards and protocols
  • Knowledge of allergens, food sensitivities, and dietetic restrictions
  • Skill in time management, organization, and multi-tasking in high-volume environments
  • Skill in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to obtain food safety/sanitation certifications required of the position
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Pay

$17.90 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule

Schedule varies based on event needs. Work schedule may fluctuate based on University-wide events and academic breaks.
