Catering Supervisor (Events)

Source Catering is the University of Bristol’s award-winning catering brand, offering a dynamic role for an enthusiastic and friendly Events Supervisor. This position involves working across our diverse catering outlets, including 4 catered halls of residence, beautiful events and conference spaces, 9 cafes, 2 bars, and a food court. The role is ideal for someone with industry experience and strong leadership qualities.

About the role

The Events Supervisor will support the Conference & Events Manager and the team in delivering a variety of events across the university for students, staff, and external clients. The team operates across multiple sites, handling events such as banquet dinners, BBQs, conferences, canapé and drinks receptions, and catering at the University’s sports complex at Coombe Dingle. You’ll also assist our in-house delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of events across various university sites.
• Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring all stock and equipment are ready for use.
• Manage and delegate tasks to casual staff during events.
• Liaise with clients on the day of events to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in catering operations at the University’s sports complex and support the in-house delivery team.

Requirements

• Experience in retail catering or hospitality.
• Extensive experience catering for various functions, from small to large, casual to formal, and high-profile events.
• Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of problem-solving under pressure.
• Supervisory experience with casual teams, ensuring high standards are met.
• Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years.
